This training offers school staff the opportunity to take a fresh look at how we strive to maintain positive and healthy relationships with parents, especially those who challenge the school. It explores different parenting styles, how we feel about 'difficult conversations' and equips staff with practical strategies to respond with empathy, clarity, and confidence while building trust and collaboration.
This training gives space for staff to reflect on their experiences with challenging parent interactions; identifying common stress points and emotional responses. We will think about the concept of different parenting styles and how these shape the ways families engage with schools, offering attendees a new lens through which to view parents’ concerns and behaviours.
Group discussion and guided reflection will help participants explore and share practical strategies to maintain empathy, set healthy boundaries, and communicate clearly—even in moments of tension. The training emphasises compassion and curiosity over judgment, helping staff to respond in ways that preserve trust and connection. By the end, attendees will leave with renewed confidence, a deeper understanding of relational dynamics, and ways to support healthy, positive relationships with parents.
