Enhance your leadership impact with our 2-day Foundation Level Senior Mental Health Lead Training, designed to empower school leaders to drive meaningful, whole-school mental health change. This training provides the strategic knowledge, practical tools, and confidence needed to shape a positive mental health culture, influence school policy, and lead staff in creating a supportive and resilient school community.
This comprehensive 2-day training is designed to equip school leaders with the knowledge, confidence, and strategic skills to embed a whole-school approach to mental health and well-being. While the DfE previously funded Senior Mental Health Lead training, this support is no longer available—making it more important than ever for schools to invest in high-quality, evidence-based training.
Delivered by experienced leaders in the field, this training is structured around Public Health England’s 8 Principles for a Whole School Approach to Mental Health, covering:
- School Ethos & Environment – Creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Curriculum, Teaching & Learning – Integrating mental health education into lessons.
- Student Voice – Encouraging pupil involvement in mental health initiatives.
- Leadership & Management – Embedding mental health in school policies and culture.
- Staff Development & Wellbeing – Supporting staff mental health and training.
- Identifying Need & Monitoring Impact – Using data to assess and improve well-being.
- Working with Parents & Carers – Strengthening home-school partnerships.
- Coordinated Support – Collaborating with external mental health services.
By the end of the training, participants will leave with a comprehensive, actionable mental health strategy tailored to their school’s needs. Schools will also gain access to a wider network of Senior Mental Health Leads, offering ongoing collaboration, peer support, and the latest sector insights to sustain and develop their mental health leadership.
