Why choose BEP?
In a time of austerity when schools are having to think differently about how best to meet the needs of children with SEND, the review process provides an opportunity to gain a fresh perspective from experienced SEND and School Improvement Leaders. A SEND review provides external validation of a school’s self-evaluation and will help to develop the SEND strategy, in order to effectively support children and young people to achieve good outcomes.
The benefits:
- An opportunity for Leaders to explore different approaches to raising pupil outcomes.
- Gain an external perspective from experienced Leaders with knowledge and expertise in school leadership and SEND.
- Validate current strategies to build on their success.
The SEND Review includes:
- Pre-review meeting and self-evaluation to reflect on the nature and quality of your school’s current provision and decision-making and the impact that it has on pupils with SEND.
- Written report providing a summary of strengths and areas for development, including a series of key evaluative questions for the school to explore further.
- Full day school visit including meeting with stakeholders; focused learning walks; observations of intervention sessions for pupils with SEND; exploring identification, monitoring and assessment processes.
