Birmingham Contemporary Music Group

BCMG is one of the leading new music ensembles. Based at CBSO Centre, the group performs in Birmingham, nationally and internationally and has commissioned over 200 new works.

For over 20 years, BCMG has worked in schools supporting children and their teachers with the composing element of the music curriculum. BCMG is recognised as an international leader in this area and is currently concluding a two-year action research project Listen Imagine Compose Primary, in partnership with Birmingham City University investigating children’s composing and progress as composers at Key Stage 2.
