Leadership Consultancy and Support
Examples of bespoke support could include:
- Coaching and support for new headteachers
- School improvement planning and construction of the SEF
- Development of Middle Leaders curriculum and/or pastoral
Development and Support for Governance
BEP supports governors to develop and fulfil their key roles and responsibilities:
- To ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- To hold the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff
- To oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure its money is well spent
This may also include advice on:
- Determining how the school’s budget is spent
- The appointing and dismissing of staff
- Hearing appeals and grievances
- Forming policy on the school’s curriculum and collective worship
- Setting standards for pupils’ behaviour and discipline
- Making sure school buildings are welcoming and safe
- Setting and monitoring the school’s aims and policies
Detailed and Focussed Aspect or Subject review
Focus Areas are determined by consultation with the school/academy, including:
- Safeguarding and Compliance
- Pupil premium/disadvantaged students
- Quality of teaching and Learning
- Subject Review (all subject areas including Sport and the Arts) or a Phase review; a key stage or Progress 8 aspect i.e. Humanities/MFL
- Special educational needs
- Inclusion, attendance, behaviour for learning
- Middle Leader coaching and development, creating a focussed internal review cycle (bespoke to the school)
Whole School Performance Review
Including some or all of the following features (following discussion with the Headteacher/Executive Head):
- A skilled and experienced team, comprising Outstanding Headteachers, School Leaders and HMIs.
- A structured framework to support performance review
- The coaching and inclusion of school leaders, to both consolidate and improve their skills in monitoring and evaluation
- An evidence based process detailing ‘how far’ school improvement priorities are being met, in our detailed and quality assured report which will identify strengths, areas for development and practical next steps.
- A quality summary report delivered within five working days
