Therapeutic Reviews

A Therapeutic Review aims to explore and build on the work already in place to support the mental health, well-being and attainment of the whole school

As part of a Therapeutic Review, detailed attention is given to areas of school life that may prove challenging in terms of raising the mental health & well-being of pupils. This may include specific pupil cohorts or simply areas in which school staff feel they can do better. All Therapeutic Reviews are carried out by practitioners with a clinical background in mental health. The review involves a day in school following a pre-agreed timetable. This is likely to include a brief meeting with members of the Senior Leadership Team,  some time spent in the classroom, time with a pupil group, reflective conversations with relevant members of staff and a focus group of parents. 

At the end of the school day, verbal feedback is given to the SLT and a report drafted identifying key strengths  as well as areas in which the school can develop its own approach to inclusion, mental health and well-being.
