Good Morning To You All,
I trust the first week back went well and you all feel term is fully underway. I thought I would send you a list of dates for up and coming events prior to half term to put in your diaries. I would also like to welcome all our new Headteachers who may be new readers of my weekly school improvement blog. Hopefully we have managed to get everyone’s email right!
STRAIGHT TO TEACHING TA BREIFING
Straight to Teaching is a unique, online and in-school professional development programme which can lead to application for the Assessment Only QTS assessment. This twilight session, on Tuesday 11th September, is suitable for Teaching Assistants, unqualified teachers and cover supervisors interested in the Straight to Teaching programme, but would like to know more about the eligibility criteria, requirements and benefits to themselves and their school.
Monday 24th September from 6pm, we are inviting you to come and join us for a curry at Tipu Sultan in Moseley. If you would like to come (some consortia/groups are booking tables) it’s only £20 a head. Click the button below to book your place, or to book a table, email firstname.lastname@example.org
LEARNING TO SHAPE BIRMINGHAM CONFERENCE
Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th September. If you haven’t yet booked please look at the range of school improvement sessions we are running, there really is something for each one of you.
KS1 FAMILIES OF SCHOOLS (free)
Our primary event is being held on Friday 12th October. It is only a 2 hour event and we would love it if we could have every primary and infant school represented. Those of you who came last year know how important it is to get everyone there so please encourage each other to attend.
SSIF 2 READING CPD DAY
Wednesday 26th September (day 2 of the conference) is the 3rd CPD day and all schools in the project get one free place*. James Clements will be delivering for the day on ‘How to lead an outstanding reading school’. October 26th is the final CPD day for the project. It is all about how to ensure reading fluency. If you are part of the project you get one free place.
*The room only holds 100 people and 98 schools are involved in the project; only one ticket will be issued to each school, so please do not send more than one representative to this session on the day.
I look forward to seeing you all at some/all of these events, but in the meantime have a good week everyone and you know where we are if you need anything.
My very best wishes to you all
Director of Continuous School Improvement, Birmingham Education Partnership
