Lead Practitioner in Peer Tutoring – Training for staff
The impact of Covid-19 on children and young people cannot be underestimated. For most children their daily goal in going to school is not just to learn but to see their friends and to feel a sense of self-worth that only a peer group can offer. This is as pertinent to their holistic development as any lesson. As part of a recovery curriculum, Peer Tutoring can provide a renewed focus on building, maintaining and repairing relationships between both staff & students and student & students. This is coupled with the opportunity to focus on key learning of core subjects such as reading, literacy and numeracy, as well as supporting transition.
