Learning to Shape Birmingham is an event organised by Birmingham Headteachers, for all who lead Birmingham schools, whatever the type or phase. After the launch in 2016, the conference now returns annually in September.
This is the only conference for Birmingham school leaders which seeks to bring us all together to learn about the best practice for classrooms and the most current information about great school leadership, current Ofsted developments and other areas of school improvement such as:
- Financial pressures
- Recruitment and Retention
- Inclusion and raising attainment
- Mental Health and Well-being
- Arts and Cultural Education
- Learning from peers
- And many more
The conference has been well attended year on year with some excellent feedback from delegates:
What was the most beneficial aspect of Learning to Shape Birmingham?
“Thinking about how we can improve school through a creative approach…the incremental development and the importance of the whole team”
“Heard fresh ideas that made me think and will make a difference back in school”
“I thought that this year was an excellent balance of speakers that instigated great thinking on what we all need to do to support the students in Birmingham. The fact that you had people who would agree and disagree with each other provided balanced ideas on what our moral purpose should be”
